English: ABOARD USS BATAAN, At Sea (June 2, 2007) - The amphibious assault ship USS Bataan’s (LHD 5) newest frockees stand by for remarks from Bataan's Commanding Officer, Capt. Rick Snyder, after the frocking ceremony. More than 140 Bataan Sailors were recognized during the ceremony. Bataan ESG is conducting Maritime Operations (MO) which help set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment, as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. These operations deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
